El Cantito Cafe, located in Yonkers at 1550D Central Park Ave., will appear on an episode of "Kitchen Nightmares" that is set to air on Monday, Nov. 13, Yonkers officials announced.
During the episode, Ramsay will help the eatery's owners recover from challenges posed by the pandemic, city officials said. No further details have been released by the network, so those interested will have to tune in to learn more.
El Cantito, which opened in March 2020 just before the COVID-19 pandemic shuttered restaurants across the country, is known for serving authentic Puerto Rican cuisine such as empanadas, trifongo, pork chops, and mofongo de yuca.
Although Ramsay will surely be critiquing the restaurant during its appearance on the show, the eatery has received praise from visitors who enjoyed its authentic dishes.
"The food is amazing and fresh," wrote Jani M. in a Yelp review, also adding that the food reminded her of her grandparents.
Cora T. of the Bronx also praised the food in her five-star review, writing, "We had the pernil, rice and gandules, Trifongo and alcapurrias. No disappointment at all."
The episode featuring El Cantito will be a part of the upcoming revival of Ramsay's popular "Kitchen Nightmares" show, which is soon beginning its eighth season after a nearly decade-long hiatus. The program depicts Ramsay as he spends time with struggling restauranteurs in order to help them revive their business.
The show originally ran between 2007 and 2014. The eighth season will premiere on Monday, Sept. 25 on FOX.
